About APSEA
The Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (APSEA) is a professional organization established in 1961 as a membership umbrella body that brings together professional societies of diverse disciplines. Currently the Association has over 30 corporate members in Kenya constituting all major professions in the country including medicine, law, accounting, engineering, architecture, public and corporate administration, veterinary science, planning, procurement, and marketing among many others.
Vision
To be a strong and sustainable umbrella association of professional societies that provides effective leadership; to promote professionalism and facilitate its members to deliver efficient and quality service.
Mission
To develop and promote competence, ethics and integrity among professionals; create strategies, alliances and networks that provide opportunities for the enhancement of service delivery which responds to the needs of the society.
The Objectives of the Association
- To maintain and advance the highest professional standards in the public interest;
- To promote the interest of the professions and their members in East Africa ;
- To represent corporate members in matters that the corporate members consider better handled at that level;
- To co-operate and network with other professional organizations or groups to advance and enhance the cause of professionalism;
- To foster issues of public interest by advocating, promoting or contesting legislative or other policy proposals and enactments as may be necessary or expedient;
- To advance professionalism, professional education and training for the benefit of its members and the public good;
- To provide and acquire facilities, equipment and other resources for the benefit of its members;
- To be involved and be supportive of any other activities conducive to the above objectives and the cause of professionalism and professional development.

APSEA embraces, promotes and maintain the following core values:
(i) Highest standards of professionalism at individual and institutional levels
(ii) Adherence to the highest levels of competence and professional conduct
(iii) Adherence to ethics and personal integrity at the highest possible standards
(iv) Reliability and honesty among professionals
(v) Provision of equal opportunities for all regardless of gender, race or creed
(vi) Enhancement of social responsibility among professionals and the society at large
